The Mission

The tank had been on empty

For the last 20 miles

And the last 10 years

There were no signs of salvation

And no wells for hydration

Her soul knew only how to endure and go,

But collided with her mind and body,

Which pleaded for the turbulence to slow.

Through the world’s eyes,

She had nothing to show;

But the truth laid in her eyes,

Which saw strength stemming from sorrow.

There were no crossroads, no fork in the road-

The lone path was to endure and go.

Deep within, she understood the mission,

And relished in the struggle to bring to life, her vision.

Let there be no confusion

This is not a story of despair,

Rather triumph, foreshadowed,

And the start of how a fairytale prevailed.
