The tank had been on empty

For the last 20 miles

And the last 10 years

Not in the blink of an eye,

But more likely several years without cheer

A day will appear-

With clouds astray,

How unsettling,

To embark down a path,

For which there is no map.

Tread carefully with expectations,

In your moment of awakening.

There will be no ticker tape parade

Nothing on the scoreboard to celebrate

I awoke this morning and debated:

Has the world gone mad,

Or have I?

Please take my hand

For I have endured

The depths of hell

And danced with demons

And so she took a leap of faith

To rise above

And take a chance.

To surrender her life, for another

Bruised and Battered

Scrapes and Scars

Countless wrong turns

Have left you lost in the abyss.

If you have chosen the path of chasing your dream,

I commend your bravery.
