Not in the blink of an eye,
But more likely several years without cheer
A day will appear-
With clouds astray,
Stay a while
With these words and I
If you wouldn’t mind
Give me this one dance
This one chance
Please take my hand
For I have endured
The depths of hell
And danced with demons
There’s a constant conflict in the creature in me
For I yearn for attention
But also yearn for peace
Better yet-
Embrace the rollercoaster, there is no escalator in life.
There is great thrill in being down,
Knowing there is nowhere to go but up;
And all that goes up, gravity will pull down.
Why should I apologize
For who I am,
Or who I’ve become,
Or what I’m becoming?
She awoke
Not with worry and fear,
But a smile
Knowing this was her year
It is a travesty in many ways
How our species takes on the day
Arming ourselves with tools and tactics
To navigate a treacherous age
Once a bird met a tree,
On its winter journey,
Across land and sea.
“May I rest my legs on your branch?”
Inquired the bird, tired as can be.
Every morning I awake to a silent breeze
Creeping through the window,
Where I see the sun rise from the east
There’s happiness in the simple things I thought
If we look hard enough, and dare to live free
What is the reality of this world?
Is there any universal beauty?
Any undeniable truths?
You have your prejudices
And me, my illusions
Who is the architect
Behind these rules we must play by?
Its several years later
And I still see nothing but fools
Laying brick to pave the roads
For royalty to pass through.
